Wayne - At Last! (Unknown)

Wayne
At Last! (Unknown, Unknown)

"It's a shame there is literally no information out there on Wayne, aside from the fact that he's on SITKZ Vol.2. If you can let yourself enjoy something like this, I find it one of the most exceptionally fluid and lucid outsider records of all time! And if Prea's Song doesn't make you want to cry, yr a stone." - DD

Wayne in Morgantown, WV when he reeleased this album. He was an eccenttric townie who hung around the WVU campus and college hangouts and bars. He was ok to talk to, if a little strange. I bought my copy of this CD directly off of Wayne (I don't remember if his last name was shown). I lost my copy years ago, but seem to remember the best song being about a mine disaster or something like that. I think I last saw Wayne around town sometime in the late '90s or early 2000s.

Wayne also made three dimensional fold out books that featured lots of bosoms, steppe pyramids, and games. I know it sounds wierd, but that's correct. He had hitch-hiked most of North America. Not just the USA, but especially Mexico and walked with a severe limp.

i would love to see some of those books

Wayne was a frequent (six hours a day) customer at the Blue Moose Cafe in Morgantown during the mid-90s, where he sold his crazy chapbooks. I hosted open mic there and it had to be original music. This was perfect for Wayne who often played for us (mixed with standup) and who had an ongoing rivalry with fellow outsider poet/musician Joe Gatski (R.I.P).

Wayne had many more songs than are even on this CD, but it is a great representation of his style. Some people would leave while he played, to go outside and catch a smoke or whatever, especially Priya . . .

I often look for Wayne when I am driving long trips, assuming if I see him again, it will be along the highway somewhere, but if I had to guess, from all our conversations, I would assume he returned to somewhere near or over the Mexican border.

Hi Colin, Is there any chance of a re-up of this? Think the link has expired and everywhere seems sold out of the physical... Cheers!

I just came upon this site again. I still have about a dozen copies of the CD. Might think about selling them in the near future.

Do you still have some? I had one I bought directly from Wayne for $10 right after he made them, but it's been long since lost.
